Douglas Branch Coming Soon...

Interstate Credit Union is pleased to announce that renovations are underway for its new branch office in Douglas, Georgia, located at 1401 Bowens Mill Road S.E., near the intersection of Bowens Mill Road and Gaskin Avenue.

The existing 5,000-square-foot, single-story building will be refreshed with striking blue walls and gold accents that complement the Credit Union’s logo. There will also be an addition of a 3-lane drive-up canopy and a thru-wall ITM for added customer convenience. A new monument sign and concrete sidewalk will also be added. The interior will be remodeled to include a sophisticated, comfortable waiting area, new transactional teller line, five offices, a break room, and a future call center. The new interior design will feel modern and welcoming, with cool tones of blue throughout, along with clean white accents and hints of gold to carry the Interstate Credit Union branding into the interior of the building.
Eclipse Brand Builders was selected to provide turnkey design-build services for the project, including architecture, engineering, interior design and full-time on-site construction management. Eclipse is executing the construction of the project using local sub-contractors and local suppliers for all labor and building materials through a competitive bid process, keeping construction dollars in the community.

Scam Alert!

A unique type of technology now enables fraudsters to fake the number they are calling from by making a false number appear on your caller ID. It’s extremely effective, because the number displayed appears to be your financial institution’s correct phone number.

This scam is called number spoofing. Using specialized technology, the number appears on the victim’s caller ID display. The fraudsters may call to say there is a charge you need to verify or you might receive a text saying someone from Interstate Credit Union will contact you. If you receive either of these, you need to call your local branch number to confirm if we called you or sent a text.

Here is what you need to know:
  • Don’t trust caller ID. Scammers can spoof any number so it looks like they are calling from a particular company, even when they’re not.
  • Don’t give personal information. Don’t provide any personal or financial information unless you’ve initiated the call and it’s to a phone number you know is correct. Interstate Credit Union would never ask members to verify your full SS#, full card number, card expiration date, CVV, PIN or one time passcode (OTP).
  • If you get a robocall, hang up. Don’t press 1 to speak to a live operator or any other key to take your number off the list. If you respond by pressing any number, it will probably just lead to more robocalls.
The best advice to beat the scam is simple – never assume that someone is who they portray to be just because the number displayed on your caller ID matches that of an organization you know. Always be suspicious if you’re asked for your four-digit PIN or full online banking passwords. Same goes for transferring or withdrawing money or giving your card to a courier. Remember, your Credit Union will never ask you to do any of these things.

Zelle Fraud/Scam Alert

Alert:  A fictitious fraud text is circulating.  If you receive an ‘Interstate Fraud’ text for Zelle, contact the credit union at 800-822-1124 or via your local branch number.  You may also contact us afterhours and follow the prompts to be directed to our afterhours care teams.

The text appears to come from ‘Interstate Fraud’ and is asking if you authorized a (money amount) Zelle payment on (date).  The text prompts you to respond yes or no.  Shortly after you reply, a ‘Fraud Specialist’ calls.  During the call the fraudster attempts to gain confidential information about you.

Fraudsters are spoofing the credit union phone number so that it appears like we (Interstate Credit Union) are calling.  Click here to learn more about spoofing:  https://www.fcc.gov/spoofing

If you feel your information has been compromised, please contact us as soon as possible.

We will never call, email or text and ask for card numbers, pins, socials, CVV’s or login credentials.  If ever in doubt, hang up and call us directly via your local branch number or 800-822-1124.  If afterhours, you can use the prompts to get to our afterhours care teams.
